Are you living in Costa Rica or even visiting right now and want to vote for a Democratic candidate tomorrow/Super Tuesday?
IT IS NOT TOO LATE!!
Democrats Abroads CR chapter (http://CR.DemocratsAbroad.org) is organizing a VOTING CENTER for TOMORROW/SUPER TUESDAY and guess what - your vote DOES COUNT!! (I learned that ALL international recognized Democrats Abroad chapters are considered as if they were our 51st State and have 14 delegates & 8 Super Delegates [counts as 22) for the National Convention and have 8 seats on the Democratic National Committee SOOOO - your votes DO COUNT)
WHEN: SUPER TUESDAY, FEB. 5 - 9am-5pm
WHERE: Aurola Holiday Inn, Downtown SAN JOSE (523-1000) - I got sketchy directions so I am not even going to go there but from what Im understanding is that they are near the National Theatre & some park & something about the Del Rey
(you may have to ask at the Front Desk what room it is in)
WHO CAN VOTE: My understanding is that no matter what you are/were registered (I believe you DO have to be registered to vote SOMEWHERE in the U.S.), AS LONG AS YOU ARE VOTING FOR A DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE, YOU CAN VOTE in CR tomorrow/Super Tuesday with a paper vote. Even if you are a tourist.
WHAT TO BRING: Please remember to bring your US passport (or other proof of US citizenship) as well as proof of your foreign country residency (Ive been told from someone QUITE UP THERE within the organization that even if you are a tourist here and you have NOT voted at home, you will NOT be turned away - AS LONG AS YOU ARE A MEMBER OF THE COSTA RICA CHAPTER OF DEMOCRATS ABROAD [membership is totally FREE! Just bring your passport & give them an address - not a bill - here in CR which they wont check]).
RIDE SHARING FROM THE ESCAZU AREA? Im going with a couple people around 1pm (as of now were taxi-ing it). Anyone else desire to carpool or join us (passengers will chip in towards gas)? We can meet on Calle Vieja near Calle Country Club. If so, contact me at 378-6679 / TheFountainsGuesthouseEscazu@ gmail. com (all run together)
FYI - To be fair, I contacted the Republicans Abroad local chapter & they do NOT have ANY form of voting from abroad program for the Primary Election for members desiring to vote.
